CLEVELAND, Ohio — A family living outside of Cleveland, Ohio received a scare when turning on their water recently and finding out it is flammable, according to NBC News.

“Oh I was so scared. It just was a huge explosion — the entire sink up to the ceiling,” said Debby Kline.

The family first noticed a problem weeks ago when their water was fizzing, and then when Debby lit a candle near the sink the water lit up, noted the article.

It turns out there is highly flammable methane gas in their well water.

“We're putting our kids in the bathtub every night in this explodable water,” Debby said.

Methane gas is a naturally occurring substance in the ground that can sometimes seep into wells, stated the article.
