NEW YORK — After a receiving great success last year, Valentine’s Day tours at the Newtown Creek sewage treatment plant in Greenpoint, Brooklyn will be offered again, according to CBS Local News.

Due to the overwhelming demand the city Department of Environmental Protection will include a third session this year.

The 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. tours filled up quickly so another tour was added at 11 a.m. on Thursday, noted the article.

The draw to the plant is created by its 130 foot tall giant egg-shaped digesters, which present a nice view of the city.

“I think couples are going to make it a destination. How many people can say they spent their Valentine’s Day at a wastewater treatment plant?” said tour host and superintendent Jim Pynn at last year’s event. “I just think that some folks are going to use it like their bucket list.”
