SPOKANE, Wash. — The Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash., is giving bottled water out to its patients as the hospital is dealing with an outbreak of Legionnaires'' Disease, The Seattle Times reported.
Testing on Wednesday confirmed the presence of Legionella, the bacterium that causes Legionnaires'', in the hospital’s water supply, according to the story.
Three patients have been diagnosed with the disease since January and one has died, although hospital officials said Legionnaires'' was not the likely cause of death, according to the story.
The hospital is in the process of cleaning its water system to remove the bacteria.
