User john waters recently posted a Bulletin Board question titled, "Flow or pressure sensor."

"I’m working on a new form of faucet for undersink POU filters, and I need to be able to detect when water is or is not flowing to the main cold water tap," said john waters in the post. "I’m thinking of a device that either detects pressure (meaning the tap is off) or detects flow (meaning the tap is on) [that] would send an electrical signal."
