Peter Nicol has held several leadership positions throughout his 35 years with the company.

DENVER — Nov. 12, 2015 — Peter Nicol was named president of CH2M’s water business, according to a press release. Greg McIntyre, his predecessor, now serves as president of global business groups.

Nicol will oversee all of CH2M’s water activities, including consulting, program management, design, design-build, construction and operations solutions for clients in government, civil and industrial sectors, noted the release. He will also lead the water business’ focus on public-private partnerships.

In his previous role as CH2M’s global water business development and client service director, Nicol was responsible for leading and growing the firm’s international water business, stated the release. He also held several other leadership and management positions throughout his 35 years with CH2M.

"In addition to being an exceptional leader and mentor, Peter has also played an active role in expanding the firm’s international water business, program management opportunities and expertise in a variety of delivery models," said Global Business Groups President Greg McIntyre in the release. "He is heavily involved in initiatives that rely on his technical expertise, business acumen and deep industry knowledge, and I am pleased that Peter is taking on this critical role in our firm."

Nicol has been involved in several water and wastewater projects around the world, reported the release. He is involved in numerous organizations including the Water Environment Association of Ontario, the Canadian Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation (WEF). His service in the water pollution control field earned him WEF’s Arthur Sidney Bedell Award.

"With his most recent background in business development and sales, Peter is particularly well-suited for his new role and brings a deep understanding of our clients and their needs," shared Jacque Hinman, CEO and chair, in the release. "Our water business will continue to flourish under Peter’s guidance. I thank Greg for his outstanding leadership over the past several years, and I will continue to rely on him to drive greater efficiencies and operational excellence across all of our business groups in his new role."
