CPA named trustee of ACEC retirement trust

MELVILLE, N.Y. — Aug. 27, 2015 — The long-time employee of H2M architects + engineers worked his way up from controller to chief financial officer.

MELVILLE, N.Y. — Aug. 27, 2015 — Gregory C. Smith, CPA, of H2M architects + engineers, has been named a trustee of the American Council of Engineering Companies Retirement Trust (ACEC RT), according to a press release.

Smith is the chief financial officer for the firm, noted the release. He will begin his term with ACEC RT on Oct. 1, serving the organization’s Region 2, which includes New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and northern Wisconsin.

"I am deeply honored to be selected as one of seven trustees across the United States," Smith said in the release. "I look forward to contributing to the organization and making a positive impact."

Smith has been with H2M architects + engineers for 28 years, stated the release. He began as a controller and is now also a member of the firm’s board of directors and a trustee of its 401(k) plan.

ACEC council members represent more than 5,000 firms throughout the U.S., reported the release. They are involved in engineering projects to enhance the country’s quality of life, including drinking water and travel.
