OKLAHOMA CITY — The decision of whether or not fluoride should be put in our drinking water has been gaining traction lately and an Oklahoma City official says the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) may soon change their regulations on the substance, according to The Oklahoman.

A year ago the federal agency was looking into changing regulations, while receiving praise from the American Dental Association and other industry professionals to do so, noted the article.

“In the United States, we've been putting fluoride in the water since the 1950s, so it's been studied for a long time,” said Monte Hannon, the city's water quality superintendent. “So, it seems like you continuously have people who ask why we feed fluoride and are we feeding too much or too little.”
