BURBANK, Calif. — Around 30 wells will be installed in the Glendale-Burbank, Calif. area by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to monitor levels of chromium 6 in groundwater, according to the Los Angeles Times.

This is another move by the federal agency to reduce the levels of the cancer-causing contaminant that are potentially harmful to the water and health of the environment, stated the article.

“It's mostly to figure out whether the areas [where] we don't have wells have contamination,” said Lisa Hanusiak, an EPA project manager.
