ROME, Italy — A case report by The Lancet shows that an 82-year-old Italian woman died after she contracted Legionnaires' disease from the water in her dentist's office, according to ABC News.

The woman’s illness occurred in February 2011 and scientists determined the source of the illness by saying the woman only left her house twice during the disease’s incubation period and that was to visit her dentist, stated the article.

The bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ was found in the dentist’s water line and the authors of the report say that dentist offices are becoming a more common place for the disease to occur, noted the article.

“However, as far as we are aware, no case of Legionnaires' disease has been associated with this source of infection,” added the authors, led by Maria Luisa Ricci of the Italian National Health Service.
