PORTLAND, Ore. — Last Thursday an antique sewer line in Portland, Ore. collapsed leaving a 250 foot section needing to be replaced, according to The Portland Press Herald.

A city spokeswoman said a trucked rolled over the 12 foot deep hole while sanding the street and the 18-inch cement pipe that was installed in 1860 couldn’t take the pressure anymore, stated the article.

The road was expected to be repaired by Friday, but it may take longer to replace the old sewer lines, noted the article.
