LARGO, Fla. — Jonathan Lee Yacketta, a 31-year-old water treatment equipment salesman, pleaded guilty Friday to scamming several elderly customers out of more than $80,000, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

WaterTech e-News Daily™ reported on Sept. 13, 2010, that Yacketta had been arrested on two felony charges of exploiting senior citizens, two misdemeanor counts of home solicitation without a permit and a violation of water treatment device requirement.

On Friday, Yacketta pleaded guilty to 16 charges, including exploitation of the elderly, grand theft and soliciting without a permit, the article stated.

“There’s others in the area doing this,” said Pinellas County sheriff’s Detective Stephen Bingham. “But he’s one of the biggest.”
