Movers & Shakers: Innovation competition winner, manufacturing plant relocates

Vienna Water Monitoring Solutions (VWM) won the highly coveted Innovation Competition during the world’s foremost trade fair for water management, Singapore International Water Week.

Mueller names Mike Lindgren VP Sales

Mike Lindgren was named VP of Sales for Mueller Co. to lead the company’s sales organization in the next chapter of its 159-plus-year history. Lindgren replaces the Mike Williams as VP of Sales, who is retiring.

Lindgren will assume the duties of VP of Sales and oversight while Williams transitions key account relationships to Lindgren, completes special sales projects, and serves in a mentorship capacity to Lindgren in his new leadership role. Lindgren will assume Williams’ existing responsibilities, including leadership of the U.S. Northeast and Western Sales Districts, Canada Water Sales, and Customer Service. (Lindgren currently has leadership oversight for the Central and Southeast Sales Districts.)

Lindgren has been with Mueller Co. for nearly 25 years, most recently serving as director of sales and sales processes. Previously, he worked as central district manager, district engineer, senior field sales representative, field sales representative, and sales trainee.

Amane Advisors appoints Geoff Gage as managing partner

Geoff Gage was named managing partner of Amane Advisors. Gage brings more than 12 years experience at McKinsey & Company where, as a partner, he led McKinsey’s Global Water Practice. Gage’s focus involved advising water utilities worldwide on strategic and operational topics, supporting industrial clients to reduce risk and realize greater value from water-related topics, helping grow promising water technology companies, and servicing investors in water.

H2M announces group of new hires 100 new employees

H2M architects + engineers, a multi-disciplined professional firm headquartered in Melville, New York, has grown by more than 100 employees since 2015 across all for the firms’ locations in Melville, White Plains, New York City and Suffern in New York, along with Howell and Parsippany in New Jersey. Here are some of the company’s most recent hires:

Nicholas Sirois joined the H2M team as a survey crew member. He worked previously as a construction worker at Apex Construction and graduated from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Stephanie DeCotis joined the H2M team as a project engineer in the company’s water division in Howell. She worked previously as a project engineer at R3M Engineering, Inc., and graduated from the College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Erik DeLine joined H2M’s Parsippany office as a senior project planner. He came to H2M from VHB, where he was a project manager, and graduated from State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo with a Bachelor Degree in Political Science.

Patrick Mercogliano was named staff engineer in H2M’s Parsippany office. He was hired after an internship with H2M as an environmental engineer. He is a graduate of SEBS & School of Engineering and holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering.

Tyler Okorn was hired as an architectural technician, working in H2M’s Melville headquarters. Tyler worked previously as an assistant installer at All Island Solid Surface Fabricators. He graduated from the New York institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in architecture.

Mike Mitchell was named staff architect for H2M’s Melville headquarters. He worked previously as a junior architect/designer for Hoffman Grayson Architects, LLP, and graduated from the SUNY Buffalo, with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture.

Robert Hein joined H2M as a staff architect for H2M’s Melville headquarters. He worked previously as a construction worker for Madison Ave Construction, and graduated from SUNY Farmingdale with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering and Construction Management.

VWM GmbH – Vienna Water Monitoring Solutions wins highly coveted Innovation Competition

VWM GmbH – Vienna Water Monitoring Solutions (VWM) won the highly coveted Innovation Competition during the world’s foremost trade fair for water management, Singapore International Water Week. The Innovation Competition award was given to the company for the development of its pioneering technology, the ColiMinder®, which allows bacterial contamination in water to be measured fully automated and within 15 minutes, compared to conventional laboratory methods that take 24 hours. The ColiMinder® process is based on the measurement of specific metabolic activities that allow four key microbiological parameters to be measured: contamination levels of the fecal indicator Escherichia coli, coliform bacteria, enterococci, and total bacteria, which is especially important in the case of process water and cooling water.

The company also received the Innovation Competition Audience Award at Singapore International Water Week. Earlier this year, the team, headed by managing director and founder DI Wolfgang Vogl, won the Innovation Competition of the 2016 International Water Summit in Abu Dhabi.

Anue Water Technologies expands to new facility

Anue Water Technologies Inc. completed its relocation to a new manufacturing facility in Oceanside, California, consolidating all manufacturing under one roof and substantially accelerating the quality and delivery of new products to customers. The move comes in response to an increased demand for Anue’s municipal product line as well as the company’s entry into the industrial wastewater market. The customized facility includes infrastructure to enable world-class design, build and quality processes.

MARS Company Hires Water Industry Veteran

MARS Company hired 25-year industry veteran Eric L. Cohee to help grow its water meter testing and software technology solutions in the worldwide market. Cohee has a background delivering national and international results in water meter test bench product development, sales, new business development and operations.

DeepWater Desal LLC hires chief data center development officer 

DeepWater Desal LLC (DWD)  named KC Mares as its Chief Data Center Development Officer overseeing all aspects of the data center development and operations for DWD’s Monterey Bay Regional Water Project. The project includes the co-location of a 150-megawatt Data Center complex planned to occupy a total land footprint of approximately 775,000 feet.  Mares brings nearly 20 years experience with energy efficient data centers, where designing, building and operating the lowest cost and most efficient data centers in more than 20 counties. He has also led and developed solutions in data center site selections, development, designs, operations and energy reductions for data center owners such as Facebook, Google, Yahoo, Apple and Bloomberg.

Water Planet names senior vice president of business development

Thomas Wilson, PE, MBA, was named Senior Vice President of Business Development for Water Planet. The 24-year industry veteran served as Chief Operating Officer at Kore Infrastructure and Vice President of Global Order Execution at Evoqua Water Technology (formerly Siemens), and General Manager at Siemens Industry USA – North America Industry Segment. He also led a team that received Siemens’ prestigious Top Team Award for Organizational Turnaround.

Ellis Corporation appoints new president

Robert (Bob) H. Fesmire Jr., was named president of Ellis Corporation Fesmire has served in various positions throughout the organization during his 20-year tenure with Ellis, most recently as the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer during which he saw significant growth in sales and the acquisition of key personnel. He follows in the footprints of his great-great grandfather, Wynn Edward Ellis, who founded the company in 1898.

Robert Fesmire Sr. will remain as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company.

JWC Environmental appoints new SVP of global sales

JWC Environmental promoted Greg Guard to Senior Vice President of Global Sales, a new position designed to expand the company’s global footprint through sales initiatives and strategies. JWC’s global sales organization includes more than 100 distributors and representative firms and is supported out of JWC facilities in the US, Canada, the UK and China. JWC’s global sales leaders for Europe, Asia and the Americas will report to Guard. He joined JWC in 2012 to oversee the newly created industrial business group. In 2013, he took over responsibility for the company’s municipal sales in North and South America. Previously, Guard held leadership positions in sales and marketing with Waste Management, WasteQuip and ThermoFluids.

Water-Right hires Clear Choice Water Group manager

Water-Right Inc. hired Nathan Mianecki as manager of The Clear Choice Water Group, the water treatment system manufacturer’s network of independent water treatment dealers. Mianecki will work within the sales and marketing team to oversee all aspects of the professional level dealer group of WaterCare® and Evolve® branded customers and markets. Mianecki previously worked with California-based, global IT staffing company Windward Systems, Inc., where he was responsible for the expansion and utilization of facilities in North America, China, India, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Xylem adds three rental operations experts to better serve pump rental customers

Xylem Inc. added three managers to further expand its 24/7 US pump rental and service locations.

John Bossong joined Xylem as the Nashville, Tennessee Branch Manager. A 20-year veteran with rental, sales and operations experience with companies such as Rollins, Cumberland International, and Penske Truck Leasing, Bossong offers a unique rental perspective to Xylem branch customers.

Bill Weymouth was named Branch Manager in Hubbard, Oregon. Weymouth has five years of industry experience working with Robertson Supply/The Pump House and Rain for Rent. He also has an extensive military background both in the US Navy and Navy Reserves, and currently serves as an Engineering Officer/Commanding Officer with the U.S. Army Reserve.

Kelly Baker, who has been with Xylem for four years as the manager of the Carterville, Illinois branch, was appointed manager of the Xylem Inc.’s newest pump rental, sales, and service location in Little Rock, Arkansas. Prior to joining Xylem, Kelly spent years in the mining and aggregate industry.
