SUTHERLIN, Ore. — Orenco Systems®, a leader in sustainable wastewater collection and treatment solutions, has won the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF’s) prestigious Innovative Technology Award for the nutrient-removal configuration of its AdvanTex® Treatment System.

The AdvanTex Treatment System is ideal for unsewered communities or commercial properties needing a cost-effective, easy-to-maintain, and reliable solution for environmentally sustainable treatment of wastewater flows.  The treated effluent can be disposed of subsurface, used for irrigation or re-use, or permitted for surface discharge, meeting the most stringent requirements. More than 25,000 AdvanTex units have been installed throughout North America and in more than a dozen countries worldwide,

This fall, Orenco will be officially presented with its Innovative Technology Award during a ceremony in Los Angeles, California, at WEFTEC® 2011, the largest annual water quality conference and exhibition in the world.  The Innovative Technology Awards—which include categories for collection systems, instrumentation, process equipment, and solids handling and disposal—are presented annually to WEF associate members who have introduced new, innovative products or services related to the construction, operation, or maintenance of wastewater systems.

“We are honored to be the recipient of the prestigious award from WEF for our AdvanTex System,” said Grant Denn, sales manager.  “We strive to develop and bring the most innovative solutions to the market, and are encouraged by the acceptance and recognition that these efforts have brought.  And with WEF’s contribution to the wastewater industry, we feel that WEFTEC is an excellent forum in which to display our technologies.”

An Innovative Technology Forum will be held at WEFTEC 2011 on Tuesday, October 18, where Orenco representatives will discuss the AdvanTex Treatment System, including the nutrient-removal benefits recognized by WEF.  The presentation is scheduled for the 9:40 am session.

On the show floor, at Booth #4207, Orenco will be displaying the 21-ft model of its award-winning AdvanTex System, the AX-Max™. The 21-ft AX-Max is a completely pre-packaged, fully-plumbed wastewater treatment system serving up to 75 persons. Orenco will also be displaying its TeleComm™ (TCOM) monitoring system.  TCOM control panels are affordable, integrated telemetry panels that include digital controls, data logging, and remote access and control in real time.  They’re ideal for stand-alone monitoring and control systems, or they can be integrated into other SCADA systems.  The TCOM system at WEFTEC will be used for live, hands-on demonstrations.
