HAIFA, ISRAEL — Two architects from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology have invented a device that can produce drinking water from dew, a June 10 story in
The Jerusalem Post said.
The “WatAir,” developed by Joseph Cory and Eyal Malka, uses gravity and an inverted pyramid of panels to collect the dew, producing 12 gallons per day (gpd).
The invention won the top “drawing water challenge” award, out of 100 other entries from all over the world, in a competition sponsored by the engineering firm Arup.
A judge in the competition, Jo da Silva, said in the story, “WatAir is a wonderfully simple concept which draws its inspiration from nature. This is a simple and effective idea using tried and tested technology.”
