WASHINGTON — The White House was to honor Procter & Gamble Co. (P&G) on December 5 for its water-purification sachet program, a recent Bloomberg story reported.
The Ron Brown Award for Corporate Leadership is being given to P&G for its “Children’s Safe Drinking Water” program, which purified water in more than 30 countries using sachets containing disinfectant powder.
According to the story, the program has purified more than 227 million gallons of water over the last four years.
Other companies being honored are Northrop Grumman Corp. and Exelon Corp. which both helped with school-based initiatives.
