SEATTLERed Herring, a media company that covers high-technology entrepreneurial activity, has honored 100 companies with its Global Top 100 Awards, and two water treatment systems manufacturers, Atlantium and Sylvan Source, were two of the winners.

The awards ceremony took place in Seattle as part of the Red Herring Global summit held December 3-5.

According to the company’s Web site, for the past 10 years, the editorial team has  “ …diligently surveyed entrepreneurship around the globe. Technology industry executives, investors, and observers have regarded the Red Herring 100 lists as an invaluable instrument to discover and advocate the promising startups that will lead the next wave of disruption and innovation.”

Atlantium of Israel makes ultraviolet water disinfection technology.

Novazone, now known as Purfresh Inc., of Livermore, CA, is a manufacturer of ozone-based treatment technology for food and water, and was named a finalist.
