ALEXANDRIA, VA — Joseph K. Doss, president and CEO of the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA), announced on February 13 the death of IBWA member and “friend” Kristin Safran of ARK Specialty Services, Bradford, PA.
Ms. Safran was a passenger on Continental Connection Flight 3407, a twin-engine Bombardier Q400 operated by Colgan Air Inc. that crashed in Buffalo, NY, on February 12 on its approach to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. All passengers and crew, as well as one person in the house struck by the airplane, were killed. The National Transportation Safety Board is now investigating the cause of the crash.
According to Doss, Ms. Safran was returning home after attending the IBWA Board and Committee meetings in Miami, FL. As Water Technology® reported, Ms. Safran was in elected to the IBWA board in November.
“Kristin was a wonderful person and major contributor to IBWA. She will be remembered for her friendly smile, good nature, intelligence and leadership. We will miss her dearly,” Doss said. “Our deepest sympathies go out to Kristin’s family during this very difficult time.”
