ODESSA, FL — Dais Analytic Corp., a company that develops nanotechnology applications for the water and energy markets, recently signed a five-year contract with a Chinese company to sell Dais’s nano-based water treatment and heating/cooling products, a recent Dais press release announced.
Dais said it is developing what it calls a “next generation” water treatment process called Nano-Clear, aimed at providing potable water from wastewater reclamation or seawater desalination, to help China manage its water resources.
Based in the Tampa, FL, suburb of Odessa in Pasco County, Dais is part of a new $200 million trade agreement with Genertec America Inc., an overseas subsidiary of a Chinese state-owned company, China General Technology (Group) Holding Ltd. The agreement also involved the Pasco (FL) Economic Development Council and the Trade and Development Office of the United States Trade Representative.
For its Chinese parent organization, Genertec America is involved in technology trade, technical consulting, technology development and import-export businesses.
The new contract could bring as many as 1,000 new “green” jobs to Pasco County, FL, the press release said. The agreement also involves Dais’s projected sale to China of its nanotechnology-based ConsERV energy recovery ventilator, which the company says helps heating and air conditioning equipment to operate more efficiently. The company says it is also developing a new heating and air conditioning system called NanoAir, which uses only water instead of traditional refrigerants.
