HERZLIYA, ISRAEL — Aqwise, which develops water and wastewater treatment systems for the municipal and industrial markets, is No. 1 on the latest Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking of Israel’s fastest-growing technology companies, Aqwise announced in a November 3 press release.
According to Deloitte, Aqwise had a growth rate over five years of 4,709 percent. The company was also recently on the Global Cleantech 100, a list of 100 of the most promising global “green” technology companies, a list produced by the United Kingdom newspaper The Guardian.
Aqwise was the only “cleantech” company on the Deloitte list for Israel. Aqwise says its proprietary technology, AGAR® (Attached Growth Airlift Reactor), significantly increases the capacity of existing wastewater treatment plants and is a compact and scalable system for new plants.
The company offers a range of services worldwide, from process design through turnkey project management, and has customers in the water/wastewater treatment, food and beverage, pulp and paper, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical industries, among others.
Shareholders of Aqwise are two holding companies, AHMSA Steel Israel Ltd. (a subsidiary of steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico) and Elron Electronic Industries Ltd. (a member of Israel-based IDB Holding Group), and a venture-capital firm, Israel Cleantech Ventures.
Deloitte is the brand name for a large group of auditing and consulting firms operating worldwide.
