MILWAUKEE — AquaMost LLC and Encotech Inc. have been awarded a federal innovation grant to develop an advanced water purification device, the Journal Sentinel reported.
The companies will use the $100,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to develop a system that would remove pollutants and pathogens from water, according to the story.
Terence Barry, AquaMost’s president and director of research and development, said the grant “allows us to field test our patented technology on groundwater contaminated with pollutants from leaking underground storage tanks.”
AquaMost, which was founded in 2006 by University of Wisconsin – Madison scientists, has patented a technology known as photoelectrocatalytic oxidation, the report stated.
Pennsylvania-based Encotech is a supplier of activated carbon for environmental remediation, according to the story.
