DENVER — Innovative Water Technologies is readying 14 water purification systems for deployment to earthquake-ravaged Haiti, according to an article on KDVR.com.
The systems are scheduled to arrive today thanks to generous donations from the GE Foundation, Pentair and private donors, the story reported.
The Colorado-based company’s Sunspring system is a portable, self-contained solar powered system that can produce safe drinking water from rivers, lakes, wells and recycled rain water, according to the article.
Each unit is capable of producing enough drinking water for 5,000 people per day for up to 10 years, the report stated.
“It’s not just there for immediate relief, it’s got longevity,” said Carmen Barker, Innovative Water Technologies co-owner.
