DENVER — The American Water Works Association (AWWA) will host the 2010 Inorganic Contaminants Workshop in Denver, Colorado, on Feb. 28-March 2, according to a press release.
The workshop will include presentations from leading water experts of inorganic contaminants and provide a forum where water industry professionals can learn, network and share ideas, the release stated.
Topics will include: Regulatory climate for inorganic contaminants; implementing treatment for inorganic contaminants; challenges associated with managing residuals produced in the treatment of inorganic contaminants; the latest on emerging contaminants; advances in arsenic treatment technologies; new techniques and strategies for dealing with iron, manganese and nitrate; contaminant accumulation in distribution systems; treatments for difficult-to-remove inorganic compounds, such as radionuclides, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and fluoride; advances in analytical methods for inorganic contaminants; and issues associated with chloramination, including NDMA formation and nitrification.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to register by Feb. 5 to receive discounted rates, according to the release.
