LUBBOCK, TEXAS — The Southeast Water Reclamation Plant in Lubbock has admitted to discharging partially treated wastewater into the Canyon Lake System, according to kcbd.com.
A partial power failure at the reclamation plant on Friday was blamed for the 150,000-gallon discharge, the article stated.
Officials said in a statement, “The wastewater was treated; it was not treated to stream quality.”
Buffalo Springs and Ransom Canyon, which are located downstream from the plant, should not be affected, according to the story.
