BOSTON — Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick awarded a $20 million joint contract to Nexamp and Florence Electric to install solar power systems at 12 public wastewater treatment facilities across the state, the Boston Herald reported.
Patrick said the project was the state’s “largest-ever contract for installation of solar power,” according to the story.
The projects, which are expected to be completed between June 2010 and July 2011, could create 100 jobs and save about $650,000 in energy costs per year, the article stated.
