AUSTIN, TEXAS — Special operation crews were deployed and more than a dozen homes were evacuated after 100 pounds of chlorine leaked from a tank at a water treatment plant in Austin, Texas, on Thursday, KVUE News reported.
The Austin Fire Department Hazardous material team was called to the scene after plant workers noticed the leaky tank, according to the story.
Crews were able to remove the tank and the water treatment plant is back to normal operations, the article stated.
Officials said the amount of chlorine leaked was not harmful.
