WEST CALDWELL, NJ — PCI-WEDECO Environmental Technologies Inc., has been selected by the city of Dallas to supply four ozone generators to replace aging equipment at its Elm Fork Water Treatment Plant (WTP), the company reported in a news release.
This order for the Elm Fork WTP is the third significant ozone award to PCI-WEDECO by the city, following previous awards for new ozone systems at the city's Eastside & Bachman WTP's, the company said.
The Elm Fork of the Trinity River flows through Denton County. The Elm Fork treatment plant produces 180 million gallons per day (MGD) of potable water from Lewisville Lake for Dallas residents.
The contract calls for PCI-WEDECO to remove five existing ozone generators installed in the early 1990s, each originally rated to produce approximately 3000 pounds per day (ppd) of ozone at six to seven percent concentration by weight in oxygen gas. Four model Effizon ozone generator units from PCI-WEDECO will replace these units, the company said.
The Dallas office of Camp Dresser McKee (CDM) is providing consulting engineering services to the city for this project. CDM is a global, full-service consulting, engineering, construction and operations firm helping public and private clients improve the environment and infrastructure. CDM is based in Cambridge, MA, and employs more than 3,600 people worldwide, according to the release.
PCI-WEDECO is a member of the WEDECO AG Water Technology group of companies. WEDECO AG employs more than 160 staff in North America and over 700 globally. The company provides advanced ozone and ultraviolet water treatment solutions to municipal, residential and industrial customers worldwide, the release reported.
