PHOENIX, AZ — Six water treatment facilities have adopted an arsenic removal technology in an effort to reduce their waters' high arsenic levels, according to a September 6 press release from Severn Trent Services.
The Arizona American Water Co.'s six facilities, with a flow rate of 500 to 3,600 gallons per minute, have been treating water containing 16 to 42 parts per billion (ppb) of arsenic; the US Environmental Protection Agency's standard is 10 ppb, according to the press release.
The technology was purchased from Severn Trent Services, Fort Washington, PA.
