BLANTYRE, MALAWI — Singer-actress Madonna is extending her efforts in helping this nation's orphans to helping with its water supply, according to a September 16 Reuters story.
A team working with Madonna was touring Malawi to prepare for her visit and was shocked to see young girls walking long distances while balancing buckets of water on their heads, according to the story.
Madonna's charity team then agreed to support government initiatives to improve access to water sources, the story said.
Madonna's plan is to raise $3 million for the nation, according to the article.
