NEW YORK — Nestlé Waters North America announced that it has introduced under its Ozarka and Arrowhead brands a water bottle that weighs 15 percent less than others sold today, according to an April 17 Associated Press report.
The company said it is planning to expand use of the 12.5-gram bottle, which took the company two years to create, to its other brands throughout the year, the report said.
According to company Chief Executive Kim Jeffery, the effort will reduce waste, emissions and the cost of raw materials, saving 65 million pounds of plastic bottle-making resin per year, said the report.
Jeffery said in the report that other bottles on the market weigh as much as 25 grams or more.
