SALT LAKE CITY — Rex Plaizier, who has been with WesTech for 27 years, was appointed by board of directors.

SALT LAKE CITY — WesTech Engineering recently announced a change of leadership; the board of directors appointed Rex Plaizier as the company’s new president and CEO, according to a press release.

Effective on Sept. 1, 2013, the change took place as the company celebrates 40 years in business.

Plaizier’s 27-year career with WesTech includes serving as the company’s president for five years, and he has Master’s Degrees in Mining Engineering and in Business Administration.

Currently, WesTech has become a growing brand in the industrial, mineral and municipal water and wastewater treatment markets both domestically and internationally.

“After 40 years WesTech is positioned, better than ever before, to earn and serve customers in all their markets. The company has differentiated itself with a reputation for listening to its customers and responding with reliable, can-do service,” Jim Larsen, chairman of WesTech’s board of directors, said in the release. “As a Board, we appointed Rex Plaizier to this position because we believe he embodies the principles that built the WesTech brand and will lead the company effectively into its next 40 years.”

WesTech’s previous CEO, Steve Brewster, led the company for five years, and during his tenure, annual revenue increased nearly 53 percent.
