ADELAIDE, Australia — Much of the reserve around the Millbrook reservoir and dam complex has been burned down from the fires, however the dam infrastructure is said to be undamaged.

ADELAIDE, Australia — Ash from bush fires around the city of Adelaide has resulted in the closure of the city’s Millbrook reservoir, according to a press release.

Much of the reserve around the reservoir and dam complex has been burned down from the fires, however the dam infrastructure is said to be undamaged, stated the release.

According to SA Water, the Millbrook reservoir’s water will be “filtered through transferring its waters to the nearby Kangaroo Creek dam,” continued the release.

As soon as it is safe to do so, noted Steve Rose, network operations senior manager, in the release, the utility will begin installing silt barriers on all gullies to help keep the ash and silt from entering the reservoir as much as possible.
