AWRA to introduce national Open Water Data Initiative

MIDDLEBURG, Va. — The Open Water Data Initiative will be introduced during the 2014 American Water Resources Association's (AWRA) Annual Water Resources Conference.

MIDDLEBURG, Va. — The American Water Resources Association (AWRA), in coordination with the White House Climate Data Initiative, the Federal Geographic Data Committee and the Advisory Committee on Water Information, will introduce a national Open Water Data Initiative during the 2014 AWRA Annual Water Resources Conference and 50th Anniversary Celebration Nov. 3-6, at the Sheraton Tysons Hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia, according to a press release.

An entire track surrounding the Open Water Data Initiative, organized by the AWRA Technology Committee, is scheduled to take place Nov. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., stated the release.

The release reported that sessions in the track include but are not limited to: Open Water Data 1 — Assessment of National Priorities, Open Water Data 2 — Lightening Talks and Open Water Data 4 — Panel on Digital Infrastructure Futures.

Several sessions, including the Open Water Data Initiative track, will be available for online viewing following the conference, noted the release.
