DENVER —The American Water Works Association (AWWA) released its newest book, "Ensuring Safe Drinking Water: Learning from Frontline Experience with Contamination," written by Steve E. and Elizabeth J. Hrudey, according to a press release.

The book offers 21 case studies and in-depth analysis of delivering safe water to consumers, and discusses potential challenging situations such as waterborne disease outbreaks, chemical contaminations and “close calls” that may occur at water utilities, stated the release.

Each case study recounted the publication is written from the perspective of those who were in the forefront of the situation and includes background information, operational details and lessons learned, continued the release.
