Azbil builds production building at main factory in Japan
Azbil Corporation, an industrial automation solutions provider, completed construction of a production building at its main factory near the city of Shonan in Japan. The new building is part of a “mother factory” framework. The company plans to consolidate domestic factories to create an advanced production network. The mother factory will include the Shonan factory as well as the Fujisawa Technology Center, Azbil’s research and development (R&D) facility. The mother factory is expected to advance innovation for next-generation production that brings together humans, machines and processes.
B&W SPIG recognized for cooling tower refurbishment in Egypt
Babcock & Wilcox SPIG (SPIG), a subsidiary of Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises Inc., completed a cooling tower refurbishment project for a methanol production facility in Damietta, Egypt, earning a letter of commendation from its customer, the Egyptian Methanex Methanol Company S.A.E. SPIG provided materials and services for the upgrade of four of the plant’s cooling tower cells, using its service engineering expertise to execute the project safely, on time and according to scope. SPIG also supplied materials for four additional cooling tower cells for the second phase of the upgrade project.
Motion Industries names new VP
Motion Industries Inc., a distributor of maintenance, repair and operation replacement parts and a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company, named Jeremy Barton to vice president of the company’s West Group. Barton has more than 20 years of experience as an industry sales manager in the mining sector and as a branch manager. In 2016, he was promoted to his most recent position as mountain division sales manager.
