DENVER — Nov. 18, 2015 — Kore Infrastructure’s biosolids management solution earned the company first place in the Water Tech Idol competition at the 2015 American Water Summit, according to a press release.

Water industry executives chose the innovation, which produces energy resources as a service to utilities, noted the release.

Kore Infrastructure Executive Vice President of Business Development Steven Wirtel present the solution during the competition, stated the release. He discussed the six-year, on-site pilot with the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD). Kore will begin a long-term, performance-based contract with LACSD in 2016.

“Kore meets the key challenges facing the industry today by delivering a stable, non-land-based biosolids management solution that strongly supports utilities’ sustainability goals,” said Wirtel in the release. “We provide this solution as a service to allow utilities to adopt the innovation without risk.”

The American Water Summit has brought together industry executives and decision-makers to talk about the future of water for six years, reported the release.
