Bureau of Reclamation announces WaterSMART funding

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The funding is part of Reclamation's activity under the Department of the Interior's WaterSMART initiative.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressionally authorized Title XVI project sponsors are being invited by the Bureau of Reclamation to request cost-shared funding for planning, design or construction, according to an article on Digital Journal.

The funding is part of the Department of the Interior's WaterSMART initiative, which aims to improve water conservation, sustainability and help water resource managers make sound decisions about water use, the article reported.

According to the article, Reclamation provides funding through the Title XVI Water Reclamation and Reuse Program for projects that reclaim and reuse municipal, industrial, domestic or agricultural wastewater and naturally impaired ground or surface waters.

Proposals must be submitted by 4 p.m., MST on Jan. 7, 2014, the article noted.
