RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — During the California – Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association’s (CA-NV AWWA) annual fall conference in Reno, Nevada, the association named Sue Mosburg chair of its Board of Directors, according to a press release.

Mosburg previously served as chair elect and will now succeed Bruce Macler in leading the Board, stated the release.

In her new position, she will focus on improving member and customer communications through new technologies and the CA-NV AWWA website redesign project, expected to be completed in January 2015, added the release.

The release reported that with more than 30 years in the industry, Mosburg began her career at the city of San Diego’s Water Department working on the docks, assisting fishermen and scrubbing boats, and has advanced through the ranks to become a program manager at Sweetwater Authority where she is responsible for employee development, school education programs, risk management and water use efficiency.

Mosburg has also served on several CA-NV committees including: The CA-NV Section Governing Board, Water Use Efficiency Board, Emergency and Security Preparedness Committee and more, noted the release.

“The success of the CA-NV AWWA Section is a direct result of the countless active volunteers and dedicated staff,” said Mosburg. “To be given the opportunity to serve as section chair is humbling. I look forward to a year of renewed coordination with industry partners and members of the AWWA community.”
