CONCORD, Calif. — LightRiver Technologies Inc., a leader in the deployment of fully-integrated, multi-technology communications networks, announced that it has been awarded a five year contract to upgrade the State of California Department of Water Resources (DWR) communication network infrastructure, according to a press release.

DWR’s new cutting-edge network will provide a mission critical optical communications infrastructure to ensure the optimal water flow, distribution, flood control and safety for California residents.

The statewide network will consist of next generation optical networking technology at 135 sites and two network operations centers and provide SCADA, voice, video and data communications for operating the State Water Project facilities, which consists of storage facilities, pumping and hydroelectric power plants and approximately 700 miles of canals, tunnels and pipelines, which includes the California Aqueduct, stated the release.

LightRiver will also provide turn-key multi-technology, multi-vendor Professional Integration Services that include full project management, network deployment services, detailed engineering design as well as network commissioning.
