DENVER — Mayor John Marchand of Livermore, California, will speak about water from “both sides of the gavel” during the American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) Public Officials Breakfast and Caucus on June 9 at the Hilton Anaheim, according to a press release.

The event is part of AWWA’s Annual Conference & Exposition (ACE), which will bring a projected 12,000 water experts to Anaheim, California, June 7-10, stated the release.

Mayor Marchand, a longtime water quality and systems expert before being elected mayor in 2011, will share insight gained from working in several roles within the water profession, continued the release.

He will discuss the differences between developing and implementing policies and missteps that can be avoided through awareness and training, reported the release.

Taking place in the Hilton Anaheim Avalon A and B rooms, the event is sponsored by EJ, EMA and Wachs Water Services and is free to public officials registered for the conference, noted the release.
