DENVER — CH2M HILL has announced the addition of Bernie Bullert to the firm's global water market and strategic consulting team in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul office, according to a press release.

As a principal project manager, Bullert will be responsible for developing and managing water projects in Minnesota and Iowa, in addition to supporting the firm's global strategic consulting business, noted the release.

Prior to joining CH2M HILL, Bullert served as director of water treatment and distribution services for the City of Minneapolis since 2009, the release reported, and was honored by the Minnesota Chapter of the American Public Works Association in 2011 with the Director of the Year Award.

According to the release, before working for the City of Minneapolis, Bullert gained extensive utility experience during his 35-year career with St. Paul Regional Water Services.

“City department and water utility enterprises are rapidly changing the way they operate as a result of increasing fiscal pressures,” said Steve Lavinder, CH2M HILL’s east U.S. global operations director. “Bullert’s demonstrated leadership and ability to manage large, complex utilities not only expands the firm’s leadership in utility optimization, but will allow us to serve our clients with a full range of management consultant services. We are honored to welcome him to our team.”
