AVON LAKE, Ohio — The plant will produce a high solids, low viscosity lime slurry.

AVON LAKE, Ohio — Applied Specialties Inc. recently began producing its high-performance lime slurry at its newest U.S. facility in El Dorado, Arkansas, according to a press release.

The water treatment chemical facility will serve municipalities, utilities and refineries in the South, noted the release. The slurry is NSF certified and can be used in drinking water applications.

"We are very enthusiastic about our newest production facility," said Applied Specialties President Terry Scheurman in the release. "UltraLime™ is very high performance lime slurry that is rewriting what people know about lime slurry."

The high solids, low viscosity technology reduces the use of lime and sludge volumes in lime-soda softening applications, stated the release.

Applied Specialties has expansion plans for more UltraLime™ plants, reported the release.
