City in Rhode Island breaks ground on $20M upgrade to water pollution control facility

CRANSTON, R.I. — The upgrades are expected to bring the facility into compliance with the new standards set by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.

CRANSTON, R.I. — Officials in Cranston, R.I. have broken ground on upgrades to the city’s Water Pollution Control Facility that will cost around $20 million, according to NBC 10 News.

The upgrades are expected to bring the facility into compliance with the new standards set by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.

Through negotiations, the city was able to bring the costs of the upgrades down from $50 million to $20 million.
