Clarke Prize Conference to include full roster of sustainability presentations

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — Engineer R. Rhodes Trussell will receive the NWRI Athalie Richardson Irvine Clarke Prize at the conference.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — The 2013 Clarke Prize Conference on Nov. 15 in Newport Beach, Calif. will include a full schedule of presentations on innovations and challenges in planning, developing and managing sustainable water supplies, according to a press release.

The conference, which is organized by the National Water Research Institute (NWRI), a nonprofit focused on enhancing water supplies and quality through scientific research and policy development, will feature national experts in global water quality, water treatment technologies and water resource economics, according to the release.

At the conference, civil and environmental engineer R. Rhodes Trussell of Trussell Technologies will receive the 2013 NWRI Athalie Richardson Irvine Clarke Prize for excellence in water research, including a medallion and a $50,000 award, the release noted.

Sustainability programs run by water industry practitioners will also be examined as case studies at the conference, the release reported.
