OKLAHOMA CITY — District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) and the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) selected World Water Works Inc. to bring their patent-pending AVN™ technology to the global market, according to a press release.

Named for the balance it achieves in ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AOB) versus nitrite oxidizing bacteria (NOB), the AVN utilizes a proprietary control strategy, applying selective pressure to help separate the desired bacterial populations, stated the release.

The technology improves total nitrogen (TN) removal by managing carbon, alkalinity and energy, continued the release.

The release reported that World Water Works was selected by DC Water and HRSD through a public bidding process.

“We are extremely excited to partner with DC Water and HRSD and their team of elite scientists and engineers to deliver this game-changing technology to the market,” said World Water Works CEO Mark Fosshage.

World Water Works manufactures specialized process and wastewater treatment technologies, noted the release.
