HaloSource scientific adviser to be inducted as Fellow of NAI

BOTHELL, Wash. — “Dave” Worley will be inducted as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) during the 2015 NAI Annual Conference, held at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, on March 20.
BOTHELL, Wash. — HaloSource Inc. announced that the father of HaloPure’s drinking water technology S.D. “Dave” Worley was recently named as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), according to a press release.
Worley is a scientific adviser to HaloSource and a professor emeritus of chemistry and biochemistry, stated the release.
He will be inducted on March 20 during the 2015 NAI Annual Conference held at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, reported the release.
The release continued that Worley’s research is “leading to safer drinking water in developing nations, using polystyrene beads that hold oxidative chlorine or bromine atoms, germ and bacteria killing agents, for long periods of time and can be easily refurbished — the result of Worley's N-halamine chemistry."
During the course of discovering this process, commercialized by Seattle-based HaloSource, Worley received 40 patents, noted the release.
