ENPHO wins fourth edition of Kyoto World Water Grand Prize

MARSEILLE, France — The Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) received the highest score of 252 among the five finalists for the competition.

MARSEILLE, France — The Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) located in Nepal was awarded the fourth edition of the Kyoto World Water Grand Prize by the Japan Water Forum in partnership with the World Water Council, according to a press release.

ENPHO is an organization involved in “outstanding grass-roots activities” addressing water problems, which may serve as a model for others, stated the release.

The award winner received the highest score of 252 among the five finalists for the competition, continued the release.

The release reported ENPHO received great scores, notably on its activities’ impact (economic, social, environmental and indirect impacts), original and innovative ideas such as drinking water platforms and child friendly hand-washing platforms, and the participation of stakeholders to achieve the organization’s goals.

The prize, around $20,000, will be awarded to ENPHO during the seventh World Water Forum taking place April 12-17 in Daegu & Gyeongbuk, South Korea, noted the release.
