HOUSTON — Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. (LAN) is celebrating its 80th anniversary, according to a press release.
LAN employees will be honored with gifts and service awards at the firm’s headquarters in Houston to mark the occasion, stated the release.
The release reported that LAN started as a small, Houston-based firm with two “aggie” engineers in 1935, and now the firm has over 300 employees in 20 offices throughout the U.S., serving an array of markets, including education, rail and transit, stormwater and drainage, ports and marine, wastewater and reuse, water supply and transmission, and more.
LAN has worked on some of the largest infrastructure projects across Texas as well as throughout the U.S., continued the release.
Such projects, noted the release, include: The Dallas Area Transit Light Rail, the Houston Surface Water Transmission Program, Lake Huron water intake project for Karegnondi Water Authority in Michigan, the San Antonio Aquifer Storage and Recovery Pipeline, VTA/BART Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension near San Jose and more.
“Over the past eight decades, LAN has evolved many times to become a leader in the industry,” said LAN President Dennis Petersen. “Our flexibility and nimbleness have enabled us to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients and the various markets in which we work. We are now a stronger company than ever before, and I am proud of our employees for making this happen.”
