WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Members of the worldwide groundwater community have asked the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) what they can do to assist Nepal and throughout the world where natural disasters strike, according to a press release.
Following natural disasters, continued the release, three critical needs are food, drinking water and medical help.
“One of the best ways to help is to go through established organizations involved in coordinated relief,” said NGWA Public Awareness Director Cliff Treyens. “This minimizes problems that sometimes occur during relief efforts when well-intentioned organizations rush in independently and add to the chaos. USAID and IFRC are well-established organizations that are working in a coordinated fashion with the government of Nepal.”
He notes, “We encourage all our members and the public to consider supporting relief efforts in Nepal.”
