JUBAIL, Saudi Arabia — The facility is the first of its kind built outside of the U.S. and will create more than 100 jobs.

JUBAIL, Saudi Arabia — The Dow Chemical Company awarded Fluor Corporation an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for its reverse osmosis (RO) manufacturing facility, located in Saudi Arabia’s Jubail Industrial City II at the Sadara Chemical Company complex, according to a press release.

With an expected completion by the end of 2015, this will be Dow’s first facility of its kind outside of the U.S., creating more than 100 jobs and supplying the local Saudi Arabia markets, the broader Middle East and Africa (MEA) regions and markets with similar critical needs, such as Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, China and India, stated the release

The facility plans to manufacture high-tech RO elements that purify water for industrial and drinking uses, including a variety of Dow RO products such as Dow FILMTEC™ brackish water RO elements and seawater RO elements, stated the release.

“Fluor has demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience within this field and we are confident that the team will bring significant added value to the project,” said Dow Saudi Arabia’s President Zuhair Allawi. “We look forward to working with Fluor as we bring this project to life.”
