BANGALORE — Aug. 19, 2015 — Eaton received the Zinnov Award 2015 for Gender Diversity at the Workplace, according to a press release.
The awards have recognized individual and organizational contributions to technology growth in India for the past six years, noted the release. A panel of judges rated Eaton on several factors, including key drivers, initiatives, benefits, change mechanism and implementation of specific policies.
Eaton has implemented several initiatives under its inclusion and diversity strategy, stated the release. Its Inclusion Eaton Resource Groups (ERGs) include Women Adding Value at Eaton (WAVE), which “focuses on enhancing Gender Diversity for Women and has active participation from global and India leadership team,” and Eaton Next Generation Achieving Goals and Excelling (ENGAGE).
“It is a great honor for us to win this prestigious recognition from Zinnov,” said Viswanathan Krishnamurthi, vice president – IT, Asia Pacific for Eaton, in the release. “We are glad that our efforts towards enhancing gender diversity at our workplaces have been acknowledged so well. It motivates us to continue with and further strengthen our commitment towards building a gender inclusive culture and achieve better business results, growth and foster innovation.”
With its programs, Eaton aims encourage female talent in engineering in India through undergraduate and post-graduate educational scholarships, reported the release. It also focuses on enhancing diversity at leadership levels.
“The Award was instituted given the relevance and scale of the problem today,” explained Pari Natarajan, CEO of Zinnov Management Consulting. “Gender diversity is becoming a key focus for India based MNCs, especially in the technology space and it is encouraging to see a company like Eaton set the example for its peers. Their focus and commitment to gender diversity along with the balance and structure of their initiatives were very well-received by the jury.”
